Microdermabrasion, also known as ‘Parisian peel’ or ‘diamond peel’, is a minimally
invasive cosmetic treatment that uses a minimally abrasive instrument to gently sand
the surface of our skin, that helps in removing the outer thick layer to improve the
overall texture and tone of your skin. This skin rejuvenation treatment is used to treat
sun damage, scarring, hypopigmentation, and stretch marks on the skin. This procedure
is safe for all skin types and is a painless treatment with no downtime.
How Does Microdermabrasion Work?
Microdermabrasion treatments usually takes about an hour and can be performed by
any licensed skin care professional. These treatments are non-aggressive, and usually
do not involve the usage of aesthesia or other numbing agents. During the procedure, a
special handheld device will be used to exfoliate dead skin cells by spraying on micro
crystals and suctioning them off right away, revealing soft and glowing skin. Following
that, the skin will be treated with specially formulated creams to further soften and
moisturize it. Treatment will involve a course of weekly or bi-weekly sessions, ranging
from 2 to 12 weeks.
What Conditions Can Microdermabrasion Treat?
The skin treatment can be used for the following conditions:
- Scarring Including Acne Scarring
- Discoloration

- Seborrheic Skin
- Stretch Marks
- Fine Wrinkles

What To Expect After Treatment?
Use a broad range sunscreen lotion after the surgery to avoid skin complications, since
there will be increased photosensitivity after the treatment. Most people will not have
any side effects and can recover within a week for another session of
microdermabrasion. However, some people may experience mild pinkness, or sunburn
like sensation, which will resolve after few hours of the treatment. The treatment will
help stimulate collagen, leaving you with firmer, smoother, and soft skin.
